"Young leaders are today constantly questioning their self-worth and self-esteem to the detriment of their mental health. Overly exposed to the fast life of the digital world, young leaders must learn to return to the basics of hard work and dutifulness, build confidence and aim to leave a lasting impact in their immediate communities."

Rabiu Alhassan is a media executive and experienced journalist with a demonstrable history of working in print (The Globe Newspaper), digital media (pulse.com.gh; citifmonline.com), television (TV3) and radio (Citi FM); he is the winner of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholarship. Rabiu is currently leading an international fact-checking network and verified fact-checking organization called FactSpace West Africa, which focuses on tackling the weaponization of mis- and disinformation in five countries in the sub-region. His result-oriented leadership propelled FactSpace West Africa to become signatory to a global media metric standard, IFCN Code of Principles, and has since secured a number of local and international partnerships including the Global Coronavirus Facts Alliance, WHO Africa Infodemic Response Alliance, Ghana’s National Misinformation Taskforce and Info Finder Project. The organization was runner-up in the 2022 Global Media Forum Start Up Contest and came second in the 2020 Africa Digital Media Awards by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, Best Project for News Literacy.
